How do you plan your social media week?
Social media, like your website, is your shop window the to the world 24/7, therefore, the messages and images you post must be relevant, targeted and reflect your brand and ethos.
The image above is meant to be a simple visual aid on how best to plan your social media posts for the week. Obviously, the more time you spend planning and engaging the more exposure you will have.
This is a great time to sit and PLAN for the week ahead. Think about what you are going to say each day, prepare good quality and relevant images to go with your posts (plus make sure they are the right size to fit neatly into the right social channel), make good use of relevant #HashTags and finally think about adding relevant links back to your website.
Monday to Friday
Once you have planned your week it’s time to ENGAGE.
You will need to think about what time of day is best to post your messages, for example over lunch or after 6pm.
You may only need to spend a couple of hours a day posting your messages, however, it is important to respond to people as quickly as you can if they are engaging back as this shows them you are a real person and not an automatic robot.
You may also have to adapt quickly and send out new messages if something relevant to your industry happens that day.
This is a good time to reflect on how your posts have performed by looking at your analytics and ADAPT if necessary.
If you have not had a lot of engagement, or not a lot of people have clicked through to your website, then you may need to look at not only the content (ether reduce it or add more) but also the time of day it was posted. You may also want to consider changing the images used.
Make any adjustments you feel is right then ENGAGE AGAIN.
Social media is all about engaging, adapting and engaging again to achieve the objectives and goals set out in your marketing/business plan.
